ABOUT INVISIBLE HAIR  and DAWN HARRISON

WHY WE LOVE DAWN AND HER TEAM…

THE INVENTOR

Dawn Harrison – Designer / Owner

invisiblehairdiagrams115 years ago it became Dawn Harrison’s obsession to develop a method unlike any other, which allowed her to permanently attach a skin based hair system to a woman without shaving her hair.  Unhappy with the available methods of attachment for women, Dawn made it her mission to find an attachment method that would not grow out, shift, pull out or damage delicate baby fine hair.

When Dawn was introduced to manufacturers at the American Hair Loss Council in 1997, a revolutionary relationship between a visionary designer and a passionate female manufacturer was born.  Dawn was encouraged to obtain two US Patents for her method of attachment, as well as her uniquely designed “Invisible” hair additions specifically designed for “Invisible Hair Grafting.”

Dawn has built a very successful women’s hair replacement business also named “Invisible Hair,” that focuses on Women’s Graftable Hair Additions and Non- Surgical Hair Grafting Attachment.  Each one of her specialties has proven to be the most lucrative sectors of today’s hair addition market.

DAWN’S STORY

dawnimg_0025_1People often ask Dawn about the picture on the wall of her salon. It depicts her at age eight, combing the hair of a life-sized doll head and pretending she was a hairdresser. By her teenage years she was the go-to gal to cut the local kids hair, even before she received any professional training. Despite the early emergence of her skillset, Dawn’s passion was art. Though she desired to pursue an art career, her mother assured her an art career would lead to financial ruin.

Instead, for which no doubt her many years of happy clients are grateful, Dawn enrolled in cosmetology school to support herself while pursuing a business degree. While attending junior college, she worked in a busy downtown San Diego salon. Within the salon, the owner worked in a private room running a very successful men’s toupee business. Introduced to the concept of added hair, Dawn kept growing in her field.

While working as a booth renter in the mid 1980’s, Dawn was approached by a spirited sales rep for Paul Mitchell Products, Lauren Gartland (now the CEO of the salon consulting firm, Building Champions). Lauren was so impressed with her demeanor and skill level that she asked if Dawn had ever considered becoming a salon educator. Shortly thereafter Dawn successfully auditioned live, on stage alongside Paul Mitchell himself, at the San Francisco Trade Show. Thus began her 25-year career as a salon educator.

After expanding her business into hair replacement in 1995, Dawn realized how limited the options were for her clients who didn’t want to be forced to shave their heads or to wear wigs. 15 years ago it became Dawn Harrison’s obsession to develop a method unlike any other, which allowed her to permanently attach a skin based hair system to a woman without shaving her hair.  Unhappy with the available methods of attachment for women, Dawn made it her mission to find an attachment method that would not grow out, shift, pull out or damage delicate baby fine hair.

In addition to owning and running Invisible Hair, Dawn currently teaches semi-private two-day classes on Grafting Women’s Hair Systems, Custom Ordering of Fine Human Hair Systems, Coloring and Perming Human Hair Systems or Alterations and Repairs.
