WHY JoliCaméléon PUBLISHES ITS RECOMMENDED RETAIL PRICES ON ITS WEBSITE

HINT - IT’S ABOUT OUR MISSION: “TO MAKE THE WORLD A SAFER & MORE BEAUTIFUL PLACE FOR WOMEN & CHILDREN LIVING WITH HAIR LOSS”.

by Admin, 15th June 2015

We have received a lot of requests to post our Recommended Retail Prices (RRP’s).  And we have done so here.  But please use this information with care.  It is a USA only guideline and actual prices you will pay at a Professional Hair Center are likely to be somewhat higher, maybe 10-25% more on average, depending on area.  And overseas, the prices will be higher than that.  There are many good reasons for this, especially when you are receiving personal services.  You might want to think of it as a visit to your personal wardrobe consultant, rather than to a general retail store.  Our RRP’s are effectively for a JoliCaméléon wig in a bag, unfitted, unstyled and uncut.  But, of course, that is not how you take it home.

In general, our end-user (“hair wearer”) clients love having this RRP knowledge when walking into an unknown environment.  But, if that is you, I would encourage you to spare a thought for our Professional Authorized Hair Addition Specialists. I understand the concern from some of our Professionals out there, because providing this knowledge can truly be a “two-edge sword”.   We do it because we believe we are helping ALL our constituents, Professionals and Hair-wearers alike.  Let me explain . . . .

I personally pioneered the practice of publishing Recommended Retail Prices (RRP’s) in the premium sector of the hair market some years ago.  At first, it was not so popular in “the Trade”.  But, over time, our Professionals understood why we did it and many turned round to me and said they had become “believers” after seeing how it helped their business.  Surprisingly, publishing RRP’s had not consistently been done before.  The previous company I was involved with since appears to have abandoned the practice, but we, at JoliCaméléon, have again taken up the mantle, because we believe creating transparency in the hair world is the right thing to do. FOR EVERYONE.

Professional Hair Addition / Hair Replacement centers need to cover all their costs and make a fair profit in order to survive and prosper in order to continue to serve you and spend considerable time with you over the long term.  That is very much in your interests.  Having expert local support is a privilege and an important resource.  This is especially true if you need advice and/or something goes wrong with your hairpiece.  Or your situation and needs change.  These centers often have very experienced practitioners, like being both a “hair doctor” as well as a hairdresser.  (And sometimes like a “psychiatrist” too).  They know about Alopecia Areata in all its forms, medical hair loss, Trichotellomania, chemotherapy related hair loss, Androgenetic Alopecia, severely damaged hair, and a whole lot more.  They have big expenses, in terms of rent, staffing, materials and supplies, overhead, education, insurance, taxes and many other costs.  Expensive metro areas in big cities incur significantly more costs, than their small town counterparts.  Overseas, there are more costs incurred.  They include additional freight, customs duties & handling fees, exchange rate and bank transfer fees, and their equivalent of “sales tax” (VAT, TVA, etc.) at rates as high as 25%.

All these expenses have to be covered.  So please know that the Professionals who choose to work with JoliCaméléon have also chosen to partner with us in our Mission “TO MAKE THE WORLD A SAFER & MORE BEAUTIFUL PLACE FOR WOMEN & CHILDREN LIVING WITH HAIR LOSS”.  They are making this mission their mission for your benefit and you can have confidence that these are among the best and most ethical of professional hair practitioners out there.

JoliCaméléon will undoubtedly lose a few hair centers that want to charge their Clients substantially more than we recommend, but, although we will regret losing them, we deem it worth the loss.  Furthermore, we think we are actually helping bring about something that will become inevitable.  We are in a transparent social media world, where everyone can learn most things very quickly.  Our goal is to empower you, the hair-wearer, to go to your local JoliCaméléon Authorized Professional Hair Addition Specialist with confidence, and know what you will be spending before you walk in the door.  Our Professionals win too: they earn a reputation for honesty, and straight dealing and benefit from high satisfaction ratings and more referrals.  Don’t be afraid to discuss costs with them up front.

PLEASE NOTE WHAT OUR RECOMMENDED PRICE LIST SAYS:

“ALL JoliCaméléon RECOMMENDED USA RETAIL PRICES EXCLUDE TAXES, LOCAL DELIVERY & ALL AUTHORIZED HAIR ADDITION SPECIALIST SERVICES.  SUCH EXTRA COST SERVICES MAY INCLUDE: PRIVATE CONSULTATION, FITTING, CUSTOM ATTACHMENT, CUTTING, STYLING, CONDITIONING & ANY OTHER CUSTOM WORK.  OVERSEAS PRICES WILL BE SIGNIFICANTLY HIGHER DUE TO NATIONAL “VALUE ADDED” TAXES, EXCHANGE RATE COSTS, BANK TRANSFER FEES, OVERSEAS SHIPPING, IMPORT DUTIES & HANDLING AT COUNTRY OF DESTINATION, INSURANCE, AND OTHER COSTS.”

Wishing you, the Hair Professional and the Hair-wearer alike, all the very best in life.  Keep on Adapting Beautifully.

Best regards.

  • I love this! The end user can then determine if Joli Cameleon will fit within their budget before stepping foot into a center. This helps negate the sticker shock that happens after a consultantation. Very well written and love the explanation regarding other factors with purchasing a wig that adds to the final price. The consultation, fitting, cut. Thank you for a wonderful piece. Tara Hadden-Watts Guiltless Glamour Studio
